Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, who else sees it, and what you can tell us to do about it.

Last updated: 31 October 2026. This policy covers everything at collabogig.com, our training programmes, and the enquiry forms we run on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. It is written to meet the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

1. Who we are

  • Collabogig Innovations ("we", "us") is a technology company registered in Nigeria, with offices at KM 16 Rumuokwurusi, Egbo Etche Road, Ola Plaza, First Floor, Opposite Numega Gas Plant, Rivers State, Nigeria. We build software and run technology training.
  • We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. That means we decide what is collected and why, and we are accountable for it.
  • If you have a question about your data, write to hello@collabogig.com or call 0913 387 9083.

2. What we collect, and when

  • When you enquire about training — whether through our website, WhatsApp, or a Facebook or Instagram advert — we collect your name, phone number, email address and the location you give us. Some advert forms also ask for your date of birth and gender.
  • When you apply for a place on a course, we collect the above plus your home address, state of origin, highest qualification, occupation, a passport photograph, and the name, relationship and phone number of your next of kin.
  • When you pay, we collect the payment reference and any receipt you send us. Card details are handled entirely by Paystack and never reach our systems.
  • When you book a meeting with us, we collect your name, email, phone number, business name and what you want to discuss.
  • When you are a member of our staff, we hold the employment details you provide and, if you give them, your bank account details so you can be paid.
  • We do not collect special category data such as health, religion, political opinion or biometric data, and we ask you not to send it to us.

3. Why we use it

  • To answer your enquiry and tell you about the course or service you asked about. This is the reason most information reaches us.
  • To register you on a course, confirm your payment, issue receipts and certificates, and run the class you enrolled in.
  • To contact you about something you are already part of — a class time changing, a payment due, a meeting confirmation. We treat these as service messages, not marketing.
  • To send you news about our courses and offers, where you asked to hear from us. You can stop these at any time, and every such message carries a way to do it.
  • To keep proper business records, including invoices and tax records, as Nigerian law requires.
  • We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we never will.

4. The legal basis

  • We rely on your consent when you fill in an enquiry form or ask to receive updates. You may withdraw that consent at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect anything done before you did.
  • We rely on performance of a contract when you enrol on a course: we cannot teach you, take your payment or issue your certificate without your details.
  • We rely on legal obligation for our tax, accounting and company records.
  • We rely on legitimate interest for keeping our own business records of who we have spoken to, and for protecting our systems from misuse — balanced against your rights, and never in a way that overrides them.

5. Who else sees your data

  • We use a small number of established service providers to run the business. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job, and none of them may use your data for their own purposes.
  • Hosting and storage: MongoDB Atlas (our database), Render (our servers) and Vercel (our website). Cloudinary stores photographs and documents you upload.
  • Email: Resend sends our email, and Zoho hosts our mailboxes.
  • Text messages: eBulkSMS, and Termii as an alternative.
  • Payments: Paystack processes card payments and verifies bank account details. Your card information stays with them.
  • Advertising: Meta (Facebook and Instagram) passes us the details you enter into a lead form on their platforms. Their own privacy policy governs what they do with it.
  • Meetings: Google Meet hosts video calls you book with us.
  • Writing assistance: we use Anthropic’s Claude to help our staff draft messages. Where a draft concerns you, the relevant details may be processed to produce it. No decision about you is made by software — a person writes, reviews and sends every message.
  • We will also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

6. Where your data is kept

  • Our databases and servers are hosted outside Nigeria, and several of the providers listed above are based abroad. Your information is therefore transferred and stored outside the country.
  • We only use providers that offer recognised protections for personal data, and we rely on their contractual commitments to keep it safe. If you would like to know where a particular service stores data, ask us and we will tell you.

7. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not become anything: up to 24 months from your last contact with us, after which they are deleted.
  • Student records: for as long as you are a student and for six years afterwards, so we can confirm your training and reissue a certificate if you need one.
  • Financial and tax records: six years, as Nigerian law requires.
  • If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless the law requires us to keep a particular record — and we will tell you if that is the case.

8. Your rights

  • You can ask what personal information we hold about you, and we will give you a copy.
  • You can ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
  • You can ask us to delete your information, subject to the records we are legally required to keep.
  • You can object to us using your information for marketing, and we will stop immediately.
  • You can withdraw consent at any time, and ask us to restrict what we do with your data while a question about it is resolved.
  • You can ask for your information in a portable format.
  • To exercise any of these, email hello@collabogig.com. We will respond within 30 days, and we will not charge you for it.
  • If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission at ndpc.gov.ng.

9. Stopping our messages

  • Every marketing email we send carries a link that removes you from our list. One click is enough — we do not ask you to log in or explain yourself.
  • For text messages, reply or call us on the number in the message and we will take you off.
  • Once you opt out, you stay out. We do not add you back from a later advert or an uploaded list.
  • Messages about something you are already part of — your class, your payment, a meeting you booked — are not marketing and will continue while that relationship lasts.

10. Keeping it safe

  • Access to personal information is limited to the staff who need it for their work, and sensitive records such as bank account details are restricted further.
  • Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and held with providers that encrypt it at rest.
  • Passwords are stored in a form that cannot be read back, by us or anyone else.
  • No system is perfectly secure. If a breach occurs that puts your rights at risk, we will tell you and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission as the law requires.

11. Children

  • Our training is intended for people aged 16 and over. Anyone under 18 needs the consent of a parent or guardian to enrol.
  • We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

  • We will update this page when what we do changes, and the date at the top will always show when it last changed.
  • If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you directly rather than rely on you noticing.
